Questa è la mia città -This is my hometown

Torino, quella che la pubblicità definiva “on the move” ai tempi dell’Olimpiade.

E di movimenti ne ha fatti, eccome, dalla città fredda e nebbiosa, operaia e diffidente di trent’anni fa, a quella dei locali di tendenza, del metrò e dei grattacieli degli anni duemila.

Nacque Augusta, poi divenne angusta, per ritornare a ricollocarsi tra le città più significative d’Italia.

Ce ne ha messo di tempo ma alla fine anche le previsioni dei più agguerriti nichilisti “bougia-nen” non si sono verificate.

Torino è ancora lì, la Fiat più o meno pure, lo skyline non è più lo stesso ma per sommi capi ci si raccapezza ancora.

Il bicerin lo bevono i turisti mentre noi autoctoni ci farciamo di kebab e mojito, perché se la città è’ in movimento, anche noi abbiamo pensato bene di liberarci del cliché di falsi e cortesi e ammicchiamo a qualunque cosa ci consenta di svecchiarci da quel luogo comune per approdare ad un profilo più alto ed internazionale.

Chissà cosa saremo fra trent’anni…?

Torino, the one that advertising describes as “on the move” during Olympic Games.           And many changes really happened: from cold and foggy city, labouring and wary, almost thirty years ago, to the one with trendy bars, underground and skyscrapers in the two thousand’s. It was born as Augusta, became narrow, and then find its place as one of the most important in Italy. It took time but, at the end, even the worst predictions of fierce nihilist didn’t occur. Torino is still there, Fiat more or less, the skyline changed but you can understand where you are. Only tourists taste “bicerin” while us native eat kebab and drink mojito because, if the city is on the move, also us want get rid of the “false and kind” cliché and wink to everything allows us to be free and new in order to arrive to a better international look. Guess what we’ll be in next thirty years…?
